National Grid accessing Hale Purlieu
We wanted to let you know that National Grid will be accessing Hale Purlieu in July 2019 to remove water monitoring equipment from four existing boreholes.
The small-scale operation will be completed within one day, weather permitting, in early July. It will involve:
- A small team of around four people removing the equipment with hand tools only
- No vehicles driving onto the Purlieu and no equipment, materials or machinery stored on the Purlieu
- The team using existing pathways to access the monitoring points on foot with a wheelbarrow
- Full reinstatement of the boreholes using locally sourced hoggin to create a level surface and appropriate soil profile
National Grid has received permission from Natural England to undertake these works and an ecologist will be present onsite for the duration.
We will inform you if these plans change, but in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
